Stage 1: Application
Please do read our Grant-making Policy and understand our requirements and criteria. We ask you to complete an eligibility questionnaire (link below) prior to accessing our online application form. From there you will find links to guidance notes for help with your application. If you will have difficulty using our online form, please contact us to make alternative arrangements.
Once you have submitted your application, you will receive an automated acknowledgement and we hope to let you know within four weeks if you have not been shortlisted.
Stage 2: Assessment
In order for the assessment processes to be as transparent as possible, all eligible grant requests go through a three-stage process as follows:
- Assessment to determine whether the request meets our current priorities and if they merit further consideration. Any rejected at this stage are notified.
- A due diligence review is conducted by two of the trustees and if appropriate, further information will be sought.
- Shortlisted applicants are reviewed by all the trustees and a decision on whether to award a grant is made.
Stage 3: Notification of outcome
Shortlisted applications will be considered by trustees at twice-yearly meetings normally held in April and November and will be informed within four weeks of the meeting.
Stage 4: Transfer of funds
Organisations who are awarded grants will be required to agree to our terms and conditions for grant holders before the grant is paid. These will outline reporting requirements.
Stage 5: Feedback and appraisal
Reporting of impact of the project based on the agreed benchmarks and measures for success. If the project has not reached its agreed end point, the decision to release subsequent funds or terminate funding will be made at this point.
We would like to, with your permission, use information, case studies and photos of your project If we believe your project is reproducible, with your permission, we may use our media platforms to promote it.
Key dates
Applications should be submitted by 28th February for the trustees to consider at their April meeting or by 30th September for consideration at their November meeting. We are currently accepting applications for our April 2025 meeting.
